We retrospectively studied 18 patients with West syndrome treated with ACTH according to Fukuyama's method.

We experienced one symptomatic case and three cryptogenic cases of West syndrome that showed spontaneous remission.

Of these, 3 had West syndrome.

Generally, West syndrome is an intractable epileptic syndrome in infancy, although spontaneous remission has been reported in some cases.

Here, we report a patient with West syndrome whose chromosome analysis revealed 14q11.2-21.1 duplication.
